Abstract

Many factors have been pointed out to explain the differences in career development of women and men, in terms of access to such careers as well as in terms of the type of career choices and success in these choices. Among these factors, education is considered one of the most important variables. This article presents a review of psychological literature dedicated to the study of the influence of the educational factors in the career development of women, reflecting on the trends of research in this field, as well as on the relevance of the study of this issue for psychological and educational intervention at individual and social level.
