Abstract

HICHINS-ARISMENDI, Melissa  and  YUPANQUI-CONCHA, Andrea. Barriers in the Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health: Experiences of women with disabilities in the far south of Chile. Ex aequo [online]. 2022, n.46, pp.89-105. ISSN 0874-5560.  https://doi.org/10.22355/exaequo.2022.46.06.

Women with disabilities in Chile and the world have been exposed to various systems of oppression that hinder the exercise of their human rights, as has been the case with their sexual and reproductive health. The objective of this study was to explore the barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health in the public health system faced by women with disabilities in Magallanes. Based on a qualitative, phenomenological and feminist approach, 15 interviews were analyzed using content analysis. The findings show that the obstacles experienced arise from the staff, the physical environment, and the health management and administration. It is concluded that there is a need to eradicate these practices that violate rights.
