The work of Graça Morais de Pina remains almost invisible either to critical theorists or scholars. The present essay suggests some possible reasons, while it intends to unveil an author/work undeservedly forgotten. We chose Jerome and Eulalia (1st edition 1969) as corpus of analysis, focusing our attention on two of it's female characters. The apparent “no belonging” to a given space / time induced the title of this study, metaphorically calling them “foreign”, and sets the overarching purpose of analysis that builds bridges between the fictional characters and the creator who gave them life.
