MALLADO, Concepción Mimbrero; PAREJO, Susana Pallarès  and  BOZAL, Rocío Guil. Competencias implicadas en la empleabilidad: una propuesta desde la igualdad de género. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2016, n.35, pp.55-71. ISSN 0874-6885.

This article aims to position ourselves from a gender perspective in the definition of employability and construct their core competences. We  study from  a qualitative methodology applied a content analysis. We reviewed the literature regarding the metamorphosis of the concept of work and its relation to the transformations of employability, since its inception in the early twentieth century as a term associated with employment. We conclude that employability is not monolithic construct, but is conditioned by personal factors (such as gender, ethnicity or age) and by factors of the socio-economic system in a given socio-historical moment, that cause occupational imbalances between women and men. From this approach, we examine proposals that define competences involved in employability. We end by emphasizing the scientific, social and political attend to personal and structural factors affecting the employment of women and men relevance, and therefore the powers involved in this phenomenon. Thus, our article affects the areas of research and policy actions aimed at combating gender inequalities observed employability.
