Abstract

FERREIRA, Emília. Mily Possoz, a female modernist artist in Europe. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2017, n.38, pp.97-113. ISSN 0874-6885.

Mily Possoz, one of the most resilient Portuguese modernist artists, remains to this day in the light of a certain minority that still insists on sticking to female artists. It was not only her time that decided to shed a hazy and mysterious light or fairy dust over female artists. Historiography insists on repeating it. Beyond such vision markets stall happily, echoing to satiety what is taken as unequivocal. In this brief article I present some new data hoping for a brief contribution as to the reception of her engraving and illustration work, during the 1920s and 1930s, while she was living in Paris

Keywords : artists; modernists; women; illustration; engraving.
