This article, a Childcare Science, from a thesis on History and Civilizations entitled Puériculture et Sociétés demonstrates the particularity and development of a childcare science. If the first medical treaties only mentioned «protection including the way to govern and bring up children », the Pasteurian and hygienist revolution introduced a significant neologism to Childcare (Puériculture). The reference to pragmatic rules which were in line with medical and political ideology during the 19th century, constituted crucial reflection at the beginning of the first ideas and dissemination of this new science
