Abstract

MONTANARO, Mara. A cartography of postcolonial and decolonial feminism (Mohanty, hooks, Vergès). Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2018, n.39, pp.41-54. ISSN 0874-6885.

Geographical disparity and temporal interruptions in the history of post-colonial societies call into question the universal character of the categories of Western feminism, the meaning of the differences and their importance as an essential issue for our political modernity. Western Feminist movements tend to produce a political subject, We the Women, which levels the variety of the ways women experience sexism, by referring it to a single model experience. In this article we propose to explore some symptomatic aspects concerning the issue of Feminist subjects today.

Keywords : race; sex; Feminism; margin; resistance.
