Abstract

FAUSTINO, Maria João. The feminist thought of Maria Teresa Horta across Mulheres magazine (1978-1989). Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2018, n.39, pp.55-73. ISSN 0874-6885.

This study analyzes the journalistic work of Maria Teresa Horta in Mulheres magazine. Mulheres, whose feminist approach renders it a singular status among the Portuguese press, was one of the greatest professional projects of Maria Teresa Horta. Three main themes can be identified through mapping Horta's feminist thought, embedded in the magazine: the social critic; the cultural and media critic; and the defenseof a specific feminine culture and identity, claimed by the journalist to be identifiable across political action and artistic and literary creation.

Keywords : Maria Teresa Horta; Journalism; Mulheres magazine.
