Abstract

MENEZES, Cristina Carneiro de. Writing and narrative in the emancipation strategy of the character Lenù in the Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels. Faces de Eva. Estudos sobre a Mulher [online]. 2021, n.46, pp.49-64.  Epub Feb 04, 2022. ISSN 0874-6885.  https://doi.org/https://doi.org/10.34619/ihez-ttp0.

Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels were published between 2011 and 2014, in Italy, and quickly spread across the world in a very comprehensive way, popularizing and guiding debates among readers, especially the female audience, based on the story of friendship between Lila and Lenù. With this study, I analyze the strategy for the emancipation of the character Lenù, within the framework of writing and narrative.

Keywords : writing; Elena Ferrante; narrative; narrative identity; situated self.
