GASPAR, T.  e  EQUIPA AVENTURA SOCIAL et al. Incentive schemes for prevention of overweight and systems information: Tempest case study. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2015, vol.16, n.1, pp.112-128. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/15psd160211.

The European project TEMPEST (Temptations to Eat Moderated by Personal and Environmental Self-regulatory Tools) (www.tempestproject.eu), took place from 2009 to 2013 in nine countries, including Portugal. The main objectives of the project focused on the identification and analysis of new incentive schemes for prevention of obesity in children and adolescents, to obtain greater insight into the role of self-regulatory competence in the management of non-healthy food choices ("temptations") and to contribute to the development of intervention programs focused on effective prevention, in different social settings. This article focuses on outcomes of the first objective, presenting an analysis of incentive schemes for the prevention of obesity in Portuguese children and adolescents, through the identification and characterization of the existent programs/policies in the country. After the research, several programs were  identified, mostly multidimensional  that aimed, above all, to increase the awareness about the prevalence of this clinical condition, seeming to indicate that Portugal demonstrates good practices and programs related to eating behavior, through the Ministries of Education and Health, of interventions and policies applied in schools and health care.
