BEZERRA, Mirna; GUSMAO, Joyce Silva de; FERMOSELI, André  e  TEIXEIRA, Vanina. The depressive symptoms and autobiographic memories in university. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2018, vol.19, n.3, pp.526-534. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/18psd190305.

Depression is one of the most prevalent disorders at present, its symptoms cause significant clinical suffering, impairment in social functioning and in other areas of the subject's life, such as recovery of memories. Individuals with depressive symptoms have difficulty remembering positive events in their life. In contrast, because they are depressed the evocation of negative memories are more likely. For this purpose the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between the symptoms of depression and the autobiographical memories in a sample of 25 students from an IES. A sociodemographic record, the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Autobiographical Memory Test (TMA) were used as instruments for the research. In this study, the results presented through the Pearson correlation showed that the BDI score and the Specific Positive Memories were statistically significant inversely proportional (r = -0.541, p <0.01), as well as the BDI score and the Categorical Memories Negatives were statistically significant directly proportional (r = 0.528, p <0.01). There was a significant inversely correlated correlation between the BDI score and the General Specific Memory, without considering its valence, (r = -0.437, p <0.05). And a significant correlation was directly proportional between the BDI score and the General Categorical Memories (r = 0.498, p <0.05). However, it is possible to conclude that greater intensity in depressive symptoms, the more nonspecific is the autobiographical memory.
