VIEIRA, Igor Soares et al. Factors associated with alcohol experimentation among school adolescents. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2019, vol.20, n.2, pp.414-423. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/19psd200211.

The early ingestion of alcoholic beverages can lead to an increase in the chances of excessive consumption in the course of life. This study aimed to identify the prevalence and sociodemographic factors associated with the experimentation of alcoholic beverages among school adolescents in Greater Aracaju/SE. It is a cross-sectional study carried out in the schools of the state public network of Sergipe. Participated in the study 753 students. The results showed a prevalence of alcoholic experimentation of 39.9%. There was a significant difference in alcohol experimentation among students, aged 17-20 years (48.3%, CI95 = 1.14-1.62, p<0.001), who lived without parents or guardians (51.3, CI95=1.11-2.24, p= 0.036) and who had already failed school (43.3%, CI95= 1.37-1.67, p= 0.049). The low educational level of the mother was a risk factor for the experimentation, especially among the students that the mother never studied (44.5%) (PR = 2.1, CI95= 1.21-3.75, p= 0.016) for alcohol testing. It was concluded that there was experimentation of alcoholic beverages and this was associated with older adolescents, occurrence of school failure, low level of education of the mother and live without parents.
