SILVA, João Pedro Da; PEREIRA, Anabela; MONTEIRO, Sara e BARTOLO, Ana. Psychometric quality of portuguese measures of spirituality: a systematic review. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2019, vol.20, n.3, pp.726-739. ISSN 1645-0086. https://doi.org/:10.15309/19psd200314.
The purpose of this review was to clarify the adequacy of the existing measures of religiosity and spirituality at the Portuguese context. A systematic survey was conducted in December 2018 and updated in June 2019 through the electronic databases EBSCO (Fonte Académica, Psyc Artcles, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, e PsycINFO); SCOPUS; Web of Scienc; Scielo e RCAAP (Repositórios Científicos de Acesso Aberto em Portugal). It was selected 7 studies amongst 935 entries that correspond to the psychometric analysis of new scales, which were evaluated regarding its methodological and metrical quality. It was concluded that the measures of spirituality available in Portugal are discrepant with each other and lack an appropriate psychometric adequacy. It is suggested the need to conduct new studies that would resolve the methodological weaknesses signalled in this review as also the necessity to attend to the state of art, namely, the conceptual issues in the development of new scales.
