This study presents an integrative literature review about the main changes in sexual function in women who underwent breast cancer mastectomy. Medline data bases were used by crossing the terms “breast neoplasms” and “mastectomy” and “sexuality”. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, nine articles published in the last Five years were selected. It was not iced that all selected articles point to the negative effects that mastectomy can bring to the sexual health of women with breast cancer. And the more radical the surgical intervention, the greater the impact on women's sexuality. As pectssuchas sexual desire, pain, lubrication, orgasm, self-image were addressed in most studies. Patients need to be informed of short and long-term risks to their sexual health. This information Will allow personal well-being and self-control during and after treatment. This evaluation should be carried out on an ongoing basis, which will serve as the basis for future discussions.
