PALACIO, Diogo et al. Adolescents student health risk behaviors. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.3, pp.1036-1046.  Epub 31-Dez-2021. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/21psd220322.

The objective was to verify the prevalence of risk behaviors and health protection for adolescent students. This is an epidemiological cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach. The research was carried out in six state public schools located in northeastern Brazil. The sample consisted of 1,130 students (mean age 16.6 years ± 1.1). The data collection instrument used was an objective questionnaire. The study had analytical characteristics and quantitative interpretation. Quantitative variables were expressed as mean and standard deviation. For the analysis of the association, the chi-square test or the student's t test was used. P<0.05 was considered significant. As a result, 66.2% of the students have already tried some type of alcoholic beverage, the female gender was significantly more exposed to this risky behavior (p<0.05); 21% of students reported having used drugs at least once and 21.9% for using marijuana; 59.2% of students reported being sexually active, male students reported an earlier onset of sexual activity (p<0.001), while females reported a greater number of partners (p<0.05). In conclusion, the prevalence values found for the consumption of alcoholic beverages and drugs are considered high and common for both sexes. The prevalence found for unprotected sexual activity is worrying in both sexes.
