OLIVEIRA-CARDOSO, Érika de et al. Grief and terminality intervention group (lute-usp): assistance, teaching and research. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2022, vol.23, n.2, pp.524-532.  Epub 30-Set-2022. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/22psd230223.

The Group for Studies and Interventions in Grief and Terminality of the University of São Paulo (LUTE-USP) was created in 2020 in the Laboratory for Teaching and Research in Health Psychology of the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto (LEPPS-FFCLRP-USP-CNPq). The objective of this study is to describe the organization and the activities developed during the first two years (2020-2022) of implementation of LUTE-USP. This is an experience report and analysis using the narrative method. Data collection occurred through document analysis and participant observation. We used records of services performed and productivity indicators, complemented by literature review. The data were organized into three thematic categories. Among the activities developed we highlight: (1) Group and individual interventions for patients, families and multiprofessional health teams. In the evaluated period, 32 grieving relatives were attended, totaling 857 attendances, and five support groups were developed (38 participants and 143 group meetings); (2) Teaching: two courses on Death and Dying were taught in the Post-Graduation Program (60 students), three undergraduate courses (50 students) and four trainings for health professionals from the public health system (40 participants); (3) Production and divulgation of scientific knowledge: three books, 14 articles and 13 chapters were published; a webinar was held (1252 registered), two conferences (2987 registered), as well as lives and wide dissemination of material on instagram @luteusp. The accumulated experience shows the importance of articulating interventions in issues of grief and terminality with coordinated actions on different fronts, linking teaching, research and university extension.
