During the academic life, university students are constantly subjected to stress situations, especially those in the health area due to an extensive curriculum, contact with critically ill patients, among others. This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome and the associated factors among university students in health at a private institution in northern Minas Gerais. Quantitative study with cross-sectional and analytical cohort. For data collection we used a structured questionnaire related to sociodemographic aspects and another validated instrument MBI-SS - Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey to assess stress. Descriptive analysis (mean, standard deviation, percentages and frequencies) and association were performed, considering a significance level of 5%, using the chi-square test. Two hundred and twenty-two academics participated in this study, in which 20.5% had burnout, presenting as associated factors: age (0.044), type of course (0.005), moderate level of Emotional Exhaustion (50.7%) and high Depersonalization (76.4%) and Professional Achievement (70%). It was identified that a significant portion of the population studied had Burnout Syndrome, especially those over 21 years old enrolled in Pharmacy, Psychology and Nursing courses. And factors such as depersonalization, professional fulfillment, professional exhaustion were considerably interconnected.
