Abstract

The purpose of this work was to search for evidence in the literature, to gather and synthesize the knowledge produced in the last five years about predictive factors of exhaustion in parents. It was carried out a in November 2020 in the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information (VHL / BIREME) / Lilacs, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Electronic Psychology Journals (PePSIC), Cochrane and portal National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed), the descriptors used were "Psychological burnout" OR "Parental burnout”. As a result, from the analyze articles, factors related to situations experienced in pandemic situations were identified, as well as having a child with special needs, perfectionism, neuroticism, lack of support from a partner, lack of social support, working part-time or at home, which put fathers and / or mothers at risk for parental exhaustion. Therefore, it is necessary to prevent the stressors that lead to the exhaustion of parents and to carry out more research on the subject, to help health professionals to identify, diagnose and start early therapeutic work with these families in order to avoid emotional exhaustion. of parents and the consequences for their children.
