The Psychosocial Care Centers (PCC) count on a multiprofessional team that provides care to people with severe or persistent suffering or mental disorders. Professional performance at PCC demands tension and a high degree of complexity. Thus, it is necessary to develop actions of identification, promotion and prevention towards mental healthcare of these workers. The aim of this study was to identify and describe the lifestyle and mental health of PCC I and II workers in the northern region of the state of Tocantins (Brazil). This was an exploratory and descriptive cross-sectional observational study. The research involved the application of a sociodemographic questionnaire, the FANTASTICO lifestyle, and the Self-Reporting Questionnaire. Only 6 of the 15 PCC made themselves available to participate in the research. They had 91 employees, but only 47 (51.6%) consented participation. Most were women (74.5%), had completed higher education (68.1%), average age was 40.3 ± 9.9 years and had worked on average for 5.8 years at PCC. The average score obtained in the FANTASTICO instrument was 59.5 ± 9.3 (out of 100 possible points), which classifies the lifestyle, on average, as “good”. Regarding SRQ-20, 12.8% of the professionals were in mental distress. FANTASTIC instrument score was weak but significantly associated with SRQ-20 score (r=-0.28, p=0.05). Despite having a good lifestyle, the prevalence of common mental disorders observed among these participants workers was slightly higher than that found in current literature among healthcare workers.
