The Lifestyle is defined as a modifiable behavior pattern and is related to the choice of attitudes, values and behaviors, among other characteristics, suffering direct influence of occupational aspects, in this sense, factors related to work conditions and / or relationship with the patient impact on the physical, emotional or social dimensions, affecting the Quality of Professional Life, this construct being integrated by Compassion Satisfaction and Compassion Fatigue. This study aimed to evaluate the lifestyle and its relationship with the quality of professional life among health professionals who work in hospital services for the care of critical and chronic patients that make up the health macro-region of the north of Minas Gerais - Brazil. This is a cross-sectional and analytical study with 490 health professionals working in hospital services that treated critical and chronic patients. The instruments Estilo de Vida Fantastico (EVF) and the Professional Quality of Life were applied in their fifth version (ProQoL 5). Descriptive analysis and bivariate analysis were conducted using Person's chi-square test. The quality of professional life among professionals has been shown to be affected by lifestyle. The satisfactory lifestyle is presented as a protective factor against occupational illness, capable of preventing occupational stress and increasing satisfaction in assisting the patient.
