Abstract

DIAS, Jhenifer  and  CARDOSO, Hugo. Occupational stressors in nursing: analysis of the literature between 2008 and 2019. Psic., Saúde & Doenças [online]. 2023, vol.24, n.1, pp.221-232.  Epub June 30, 2023. ISSN 1645-0086.  https://doi.org/10.15309/23psd240119.

The present study analyzed the literature on occupational stressors in the nursing field in the electronic databases PePSIC and SciELO, between 2008 and 2019. Based on the inclusion criteria, 49 articles were analyzed. Of the results, most articles were published in 2016, in Portuguese, with greater frequency in the journals Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem and Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da USP. As for the samples analyzed in the studies, most investigated stressors in small samples, with a prevalence of the female gender, mainly in young adults and adults, of general hospital workers. Burnout and Quality of Life at Work were the constructs most associated with stressors in the articles analyzed. With regard to the instruments used to investigate occupational stressors, the Job Stress Scale, its Brazilian version (Stress Scale at Work), interviews and non-validated questionnaires, were the most frequent. Discussions and notes for future studies are made throughout the article.
