This study aimed to evaluate the use of coping strategies by the Informal Caregiver of the stroke patient, and to relate the levels of overload of the Informal Caregiver with the use of coping strategies, namely, the practice of sports and physical activity. This quantitative study consisted of a sample of 97 people of Portuguese nationality, with an average of 51.39 years. The investigation protocol consisted on a Sociodemographic Questionnaire, QASCI, EBCR and IPAQ. In general, the Informal Caregivers participating in the present investigation showed high levels of overload, with statistically significant differences being found between individuals who practice and do not practice sports and physical activity. In a post-pandemic period, the urgency of developing investigations that explore the burden of those who continued to play the role of caregiver of the stroke patient has been highlighted.
