Abstract

The objective this study was to identify the factors that contribute to the development of anxiety in nursing professionals working in hospitals. This is a scope review which analyzed three databases: PubMed, BVS and Psycnet, using the following keywords: Anxiety, Nursing, Team, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Hospitals composing AND and/or OR in the search strategy. The result was a total of 1,156 articles were found, 77 duplicates were removed, after reading titles and abstracts 915 articles were excluded because they did not meet the inclusion criteria of the study. In the final phase, after reading in full, 20 articles were selected to compose part of this study. Conclusion that some of the factors that trigger anxiety found in this review were overload, problems in relationships, night shifts or high turnover, physical and psychological violence and lack of support from the organization in which the professional works.
