Abstract

ALMEIDA, Eugénio Costa. The difficult process of defining boundaries and political-identitarian belongings in the debate of Cabinda. Cadernos de Estudos Africanos [online]. 2013, n.25, pp.65-93. ISSN 1645-3794.

The present study addresses the influence of European colonization in the great basin region of Zaire, in particular, the region extending from the north bank of the river to the area of Point Noire, where, according to the locals get the actual territory of Cabinda. In this study we dealt with the different kingdoms and their initial territorial space and the treaties and agreements that were the basis for the demarcation of the border today Enclave of Cabinda and the demands for autonomy. We analyzed, although somewhat briefly, Cabinda’s economy and how it is being underused in the Angolan province of social life.
