Resumen

ALBINO, José; GONCALVES, Carlos Alberto; CARRIERI, Alexandre  y  MUNIZ, Reynaldo. Strategy as practice: a proposal of synthesis. Rev. Portuguesa e Brasileira de Gestão [online]. 2010, vol.9, n.1-2, pp.2-14. ISSN 1645-4464.

The objective of this theoretical study is to present and discuss the perspective of “Strategy-as-Practice” as a proposal of paradigmatic synthesis in the field of studies on strategy, after a revision of the international literature on this topic. The article is structured in two phases. In the first, the principal models and theoretical constructs related to the “Strategy-as-Practice” approach are discussed. The second part analyzes a variety of methodological contributions that focus on suggesting forms of carrying out research based on this perspective. The study concludes by proposing methodology for research on the process of creation of strategies for companies that operate in competitive markets. Combining multiple dimensions of analysis, the methodological strategy proposed emphasizes people performance and their praxis in strategic interactions, without ignoring the performance of the firm. It unites, horizontally, process and content and, vertically, macro and micro approaches. In doing so, it reduces important gaps of the researches in the “Strategy-as-Practice” field of studies.

Palabras clave : Strategy-as-Practice; Theory of Structure; Theory of Practice.
