This essay discusses the importance of technological strategies and how biotechs in Brazil need to make use of strategy and technology for the successful conduct of their business. Based on a recent overview of Brazilian biotechnology industry, we expose the weaknesses of biotechnology-based companies’ management, proposing at the end key issues for managing biotechs particularly with regard to coordination of internal resources of the firm and identifying potential markets for the product.
