Resumen

SULZ, Ana Rita  y  TEODORO, António. The evolution of the Technical Drawing and the division of the industrial labor, in the global core and periphery: entre le centre et la périphérie dans le monde. Rev. Lusófona de Educação [online]. 2014, n.27, pp.93-109. ISSN 1645-7250.

In the development of the capitalist society, particularly during the First Industrial Revolution, the systematization of the Drawing helped to improve the graphical representation so that the design of a project could be built, produced and/or manufactured. The improvement of manufacturing techniques supported by the development of the Drawing, enabled the expansion of the capitalist society, characterized by the hegemony of the core countries concerning the definition and expansion of their material culture. Today, the sophistication of production defines the global scenario and and the distances between the societies of different geographical areas is evident and identified primarily by the access to consumer goods. In this context, the evolution of the Drawing is basically reflected through Computer Graphics. This paper analyses the development of the capitalism based on the perspective of Immanuel Wallerstein (1990, 2001, 2004), relating the evolution of the Technical Drawing and the division of the industrial labor, according to the organization proposed by Marcio Pochman (2001), in order to understand the factors that determine the different roles of Technical Drawing in the education system of countries like Portugal and Brazil, considered to be within the semi-periphery in the “modern world-system”. As a methodological strategy, the historical method and documentary research techniques were used. The results confirm the Drawing as a relevant knowledge in the development of the capitalist production process.

Palabras clave : Technical Drawing; division of labor; world-system; semi-periphery.
