LEAL, Marcelino    SANCHES, Isabel. Portuguese for all: learning the portuguese language as a facilitator of interculturality and social and educative inclusion. []. , 27, pp.143-158. ISSN 1645-7250.

As far to what immigrants is concerned, the local host communities have an important role in promoting inclusion and equal opportunities, and the teaching of the Portuguese Language is an important way of doing so. As an assistant in all this process, emerges the instructor of the course Portuguese for All, operating in three different environments (classroom, school and local community) and with three basic responsibilities: to involve immigrants in situations of communication in Portuguese; raise awareness and boost socio-community, giving emphasis to the Portuguese language in the process of inclusion; and promote intercultural dynamics, strengthening the relations graduates-school-community. This was the work that took place at a school in the Algarve with immigrant citizens of northern Europe. It was a relevant research work because it gives examples of work and social valuation that can followed, improved and adapted to other contexts; and it also moves the research to the target places of intervention, which allows assessment and constant reflections and thus a gradual construction of knowledge.

: Portuguese for all; portuguese language; inclusion; interculturality; action research.
