Portugal has recently approved the National Energy Strategy and the National Action Plan over Renewable Energies, enjoying since 2008 of a National Action Plan on Energy Efficiency. Nowadays it is recognized that the international coordination of the energy policies among the countries is crucial to fight climate changes in line with the environmental concerns of societies. In this way, the article discusses the Portuguese energy strategies in the framework of global economic interdependencies.
