This article focuses the relation between the state and democracy in Kosovo, analysing three of its dimensions: the international recognition, the govern capacity and the national cohesion. After the unilaterally declaration of independence in February 2008, Kosovo searches to concretize two main goals: to obtain the State total international recognition and to pursue its transition process towards the democracy and market economy, approaching the European Union.
