Abstract

GASPAR, Carlos. Waltz, Morgenthau and Aron. Relações Internacionais [online]. 2013, n.39, pp.05-13. ISSN 1645-9199.

More than thirty years ago, Kenneth N. Waltz wrote the reference book on the theory of international relations, acknowledged as such by all relevant schools of thought. Theory of International Politics is the dividing line between the classics and the moderns in the construction of the new theory: for the realists, it marked the beginning of neorealism or structural realism, and the new neoliberal and constructivist theories were developed from the Waltzian theory of the international system.

Keywords : Kenneth N. Waltz; Hans Morgenthau; Raymond Aron; theory of international relations.
