This paper seeks to analise the Spanish party system that was has been established and consolidated in the current democratic period, as well as to shed some light on the reasons behind the foreseeable good outcomes of Podemos and Ciudadanos in the coming legislative elections. Methodologically, the analysis relies on the combination of historical elements with electoral data and recently published polls that may be read as clues to a possible electoral tendency
