This article focuses the importance of gulf Guinea's hydrocarbons, enhancing their attractiveness factors and risks, considering both regional features and the new phase of these industries and its impacts on investment decisions, international flows of trade and, specially, in what concerns the reduced  amounts of oil rent. In this new context, the growing market share of the region crude oil´s supplies to Portugal is the more important feature, situation created by the uneven importance of the commodity´s imports from Angola.
