Abstract

AREND, Hugo. Hans Morgenthau in the “Cold War” apparatus: States, tragedy and the envisioning of international security in the 20th century. Relações Internacionais [online]. 2018, n.58, pp.93-106. ISSN 1645-9199.  https://doi.org/10.23906/ri2018.58a07.

The aim of this article is to analyze how “Morgenthau’s Realism” worked to establish subjectivities, knowledges and power relationships in International Relations (IR) circulating through the “Cold War” dispositif. In order to demonstrate that, I will engage with an Archaeology of IR as a discipline and will analyze the criteria of validity that supports truth and how “Hans Morganthau’s Realism” worked to sustain and legitimize truths about international security in the 20th century.

Keywords : Morgenthau; realism; Cold War; Foucault.
