SANTOS, Ricardo Serrão. Portugal, the Reason of the Blue. Relações Internacionais [online]. 2020, n.66, pp.97-109. ISSN 1645-9199.  https://doi.org/10.23906/ri2020.66a06.

Portugal holds a central role in ocean governance, both internally and at the international level. The current situation of pandemic that the world is facing compels us to reflect on the effects that it might have on the Sustainable Development Goals. And requires that we turn to the ocean, knowing that it is vital to engage society in a new way of governing our planet. The United Nations Secretary General António Guterres, stated that this is the time for science and solidarity. Let us recall that these are also guiding principles for the ocean.

Keywords : Portugal; Ocean; Sustainable Development Goals; governance.
