The population ageing process in which we are immersed, together with the lack of welfare means addressed to old people have provoked the outline of different lines from different research groups. These lines, taking advantage of the great breakthroughs in the field of the new technologies (ITCs) allow to deal with new initiatives that somehow, fill in the emptiness that has characterized this field of actuation. In this sense, and from the University of A Coruña (GIG) in collaboration with an Adult Day Care Centre (CGED) and other entities, we are developing a "Telegerontology" device which acting from a distance control center, allow the old people, in the distance and through their own television set, to benefit from different contents such as therapeutics (cognitive tele-estimulation and video-conference). This facilitates the continuity in their natural environment -their homes, avoiding their early institutionalization.
