Resumen

COUTO, Bruno Pena et al. Chronic effect of strength training with local vibration on running velocity. Motri. [online]. 2015, vol.11, n.1, pp.98-107. ISSN 1646-107X.  https://doi.org/10.6063/motricidade.3319.

The aim of this study was to verify the chronic effect of strength training for lower limbs with different frequencies of local vibrations on the running speed. After performing the test run speed of 40m (V40m), 55 untrained men were distributed into four groups: Isometric, 8-Hz, 26-Hz and Control. After 4 weeks of training, was performed the test V40m. The ANOVA with repeated measures and Tukey’s post hoc were used. There were no significant differences between the values of average speed in the test V40m between the pretest and posttest for any groups. From the results, it was concluded that strength training with local vibrations applied in the direction of the resultant muscle forces, with frequencies of 8 and 26 Hz, was not able to increase running speed.
