Abstract

The study aims to analyze the psychometrics topics and the high school 3rd year students’ performance of the five Brazilian regions in items related to Sport and Health knowledge on the Physical Education competence in Enem in the years 2009-2013. The study is a descriptive and quantitative type. Microdata available in the INEP site were used and analyzed the internal consistency and correctness rate, the latter being compared in relation to gender, type of school and region of the candidates. The main results were: 1) the items internal consistency in the physical education competence was inadequate, but in Languages area was enough; 2) The correctness rate was higher in several items, showing the easy level or moderate issues; 3) Comparing sex was better performance fluctuations, but the schools comparison, those from private schools candidates were better in all analyzes; 4) On the performance by region, South and Southeast led the best results, followed by the Midwest, Northeast and North. We believe that the items of Physical Education in Enem lack of technical improvement and social and regional differences are noticeable in the candidate’s performance.
