Abstract

The health of the Military Police (SMP) is influenced by factors such as diet, physical and mental health, environmental and genetic factors. To evaluate the anthropometric profile and food behavior of the military police of the 9th Company of the 1st Battalion of the Community Police Fortaleza. The study was conducted with 94 police officers of both genders. The police answered a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire consists of data such as age, sex, marital status, hours of rest available and physical activity, anthropometric data were measured and then answered the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). It was identified that 17% (16) presented normal weight and 83% (78) presented overweight; 44.7% (42) had no cardiovascular risk, 36.2% (34) have cardiovascular risk, and 19.1% (18) with increased cardiovascular risk. It was observed that 73.4% (69) only consume fruit once or twice a day and 59.6% (56) consumes only one to two tablespoons of vegetables or vegetables per day. Only 6.5% (6) perform more than five meals a day and 80.4% (74) reported eating refrigerant. Thus, it is necessary a change in the lifestyle of these police officers, with a focus on prevention of cardiovascular disease, try a higher investment in working nutritional education.
