Abstract

PESSOA, Danielly de Pinheiro et al. Influence of ômega 3 supplementation in the physical performance of physical exercise practice. Motri. [online]. 2018, vol.14, n.1, pp.144-149. ISSN 1646-107X.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of omega-3 supplementation on exercise performance in a gym. The sample consisted of 100 participants of both sexes (18 to 45 years). The individuals were divided into two groups: GFUO 3: They make use of Omega 3 (n = 50) and GNFUO 3: They do not use Omega 3 (n = 50). A semi-structured nutritional assessment questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. When analyzed if there was a difference in the post-workout effect between the groups that did or did not use Omega 3 as a supplement, it was found that GFUO 3 had less post-workout effects, with the most reported effects being fatigue and increased heartbeat (p <0.0001), which shows that in this group, the consumption of Omega 3 is directly linked to the decrease in post-training effects compared to those who do not consume it. We can conclude that Omega 3 supplementation had a direct impact on the decrease in post-workout effects.

Keywords : supplementation; omega 3; physical exercise.
