Abstract

The historical process of Popular Education in Health was relevant in the consolidation of the Sistema Único de Saúde (Unified Health System). This study aimed to comprehend how the formation of the community health worker in a health education program held in a municipality of Ceará had implication in the Care Production for the user of the Family Health Strategy. The research was a qualitative case study conducted in the city of Maracanaú (Northeastern Brazil) with ten health workers, and it took place from January to April 2015.The instruments used to collect information were field immersion, direct observation, field diary, and production workshops; and The Thematic Content Analysis proposed by Minayo e Gomes was carried out. In the Care Production for the user of the Family Health Strategy, the reports have revealed the implication with a health care that values popular knowledge in the context of the territory.
