Resumen

MACHADO, Alexandre et al. Training frequency in HIIT body work and body mass reduction: a pilot study. Motri. [online]. 2018, vol.14, n.1, pp.184-189. ISSN 1646-107X.

The objective of the present study was to compare the behavior of the body mass of practitioners from three different training programs during a 4-week intervention period. Twenty-four individuals of both sexes, divided into three different groups, participated in the experiment: Group 1, High Intensity Interval training (HIIT) with body weight five times a week; Group 2, HIIT with body weight three times a week and Group 3, race with moderate intensity five times a week. For characterization of the sample group, the mean and standard deviation measures were used for variables: age, body mass, stature, BMI and waist circumference. In order to compare body mass measurements, BMI and pre and post intervention abdominal circumference between the groups, anova (p ≤ 0.05) was used for the% change in the results of the pre and post intervention measures of the five HIIT protocols, HIIT three and moderate run. From the results observed in the present study it is possible to conclude that HIIT practiced three times a week is more efficient than moderate intensity exercise and HIIT is performed five times a week to reduce body mass.

Palabras clave : high intensity interval training; body weight; body mass.
