Abstract

The objective was to identify the nutritional status, satisfaction and acceptance of the hospital diet. Cross-sectional study with 50 patients diagnosed with some cardiovascular disease. Nutritional status was identified through the Global Subjective Nutrition Assessment (ANSG) and Nutritional Risk Screening (NRS-2002) questionnaires, and also through BMI, comparing the different methods. Then another questionnaire was applied to identify the satisfaction and intake of the diet offered, adapted from Pfaffenzeller. According to the ANSG, no patient was found to be malnourished, whereas the NRS-2002 showed that 30% of the patients were at nutritional risk; The BMI showed that 52% of the patients were overweight recommended. Regarding the variables that influenced the acceptance of the diet, it was observed that 80% of the patients had their appetite preserved, and 52% used reduced salt before hospitalization. Patients reported being satisfied with the diet offered, both at lunch (87.6%) and at dinner (80%). About the amount, most patients consumed meals completely, at lunch (66%) and dinner (68%). NRS-2002 was more efficient in the screening of nutritional risk when compared to ANSG. The patients showed good acceptance of the diet offered, both in relation to the variables and in relation to the amount ingested.
