SANTOS, Marcelo Danillo et al. Anxiety analysis in paralympic weightlifting related to tape. Motri. [online]. 2018, vol.14, n.1, pp.300-304. ISSN 1646-107X.

Anxiety and depression are linked to multifactorial issues. Strength training can mediate and control anxiety. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between strength training and tape (buffer period) in trace indicators and anxiety state in Paralympic Weightlifting. Ten male athletes (25.4 ± 3.30 years old, 70.3 ± 12.15 kg) with minimum experience of 12 months and official classification participated. For the anxiety was used the questionnaire trace-state Anxiety Inventory (IDATE). The outcome of anxiety status at week 1 (S1) (38.25 ± 10.62); with a 40% reduction in training volume. At week 2 (S2) (40.37 ± 16.07), Tape reduced by 60% in training volume. At week 3 (S3) (36.62 ± 9.21), Tape with high intensity / low volume. At week 4 (S4) (35.62 ± 9.34), Tape of low volume and intensity. Already in the anxiety trait, the S1 values (38.75 ± 7.38); S2 (38.25 ± 12.03); S3 (38.12 ± 10.48) and S4 (38.00 ± 9.21), there were no statistically significant differences between the moments and nor between the trace and state anxiety. Thus, it is concluded that anxiety is linked to the stress of competition but also related to the volume of training.
