Abstract

TEIXEIRA, Rômulo Vasconcelos; COSTA, Micheline Freire Alencar  and  LIMA, Willamy de Sousa. Training for ACL injury in footballers. Motri. [online]. 2018, vol.14, n.1, pp.320-323. ISSN 1646-107X.

The purpose of this review is to identify the type (s) of training prescribed as a means of preventing and rehabilitating ACL injuries in soccer players. A brief review of the literature on the prevention and rehabilitation of ACL injuries in footballers was carried out to perform this work. Scientific articles, monographs, master's dissertations, as well as books dealing with the theme of ACL injury, more specifically in soccer, were evaluated. It was verified that there are positive possibilities of injury prevention to be used by health professionals (physiotherapists and physical education professionals), emphasizing neuromuscular and proprioceptive training. It has been identified that the training to be prescribed as a form of prevention and rehabilitation for anterior cruciate ligament injuries in soccer players is neuromuscular and proprioceptive.

Keywords : anterior cruciate ligament; soccer; prevention.
