FREITAS, Ronilson Ferreira; FONSECA, Alenice Aliane; PINTO, André Luiz de Carvalho Braule  y  ROCHA, Josiane Santos Brant. Influence of sedentary behaviour on the practice of physical activity in climacteric women. Motri. [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.3, pp.430-437.  Epub 30-Sep-2022. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the influence of sedentary behaviour on the practice of physical activity in climacteric women. This was a cross-sectional study with a random sample of 873 women assisted in Family Health Strategy units in the city of Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brazil. A structural equation model was tested to assess the influence of sedentary behaviour on the practice of physical activity. The results revealed that sedentary behaviour has a negative effect on light, moderate and vigorous activities, explaining 8, 2 and 6%, respectively, of the variability of these variables. It was also observed that the increase in sedentary behaviour has a negative effect on light (β= –0.04), moderate (β= –0.10) and vigorous (β= –0.17) activities. Sedentary behaviour negatively affects the performance of light, moderate and vigorous physical activity in climacteric women assisted by the Family Health Strategy.
