This article seeks to discuss the mediatisation of racism on the front page of newspapers, based on the analysis of three controversial episodes in football involving black players, namely Moussa Marega, Pierre Webó and Mouctar Diakhaby, between 2020 and 2021. A qualitative methodology was carried out, following a formal and textual analysis of a corpus selected from the front pages of generalist and sports newspapers. The analysis suggests that the general condemnation of some alleged racist practices, portrayed as a public crime, comes after a particular linguistic discourse and through a specific selection of images, generating a narrative of solidarity with the footballers involved.
