Abstract

FONSECA, Daniela  and  MOTA, Elísio. The communication strategies of Futebol Clube do Porto. Motri. [online]. 2022, vol.18, n.4, pp.548-560.  Epub Dec 31, 2022. ISSN 1646-107X.  https://doi.org/10.6063/motricidade.27840.

Football clubs’ communication offices are increasingly important for what echoes in the media about their teams. This article has, therefore, two central objectives. Firstly, a literature review aims to understand the importance of communication in sports. Then, it is also the purpose of the text to understand if the media influence the communication strategies of Futebol Clube do Porto (FCP) from the perception of their supporters. The analysis uses qualitative and quantitative techniques, such as exploratory interviews with journalists and FCP communication elements and applying a questionnaire survey to a non-probabilistic convenience sample to accomplish these objectives.

Keywords : communication; soccer; strategies; Futebol Clube do Porto.
