Abstract

The Monteggia frature in adults is a rare injury, associated with bad functional results when the following factors are present: Bado type II frature, Jupiter type IIa frature, association with coronoid frature and/or radial head frature and necessity of surgical revision after the initial surgical treatment. The authors transmit their experience in the treatment of eleven patients with Monteggia frature, describe the associated lesions and how they were treated. The functional results achieved and the complications are reported.
