Abstract
SILVA, Marta A. et al. Síndrome Dolorosa Regional Complexa do tipo I: Da Prevenção ao Tratamento. Rev. Port. Ortop. Traum. [online]. 2018, vol.26, n.1, pp.30-42. ISSN 1646-2122.
Type I Complex regional pain syndrome is a clinical disorder, characterized by significant neuropathic pain in association with multiple sensorimotor and autonomic dysfunctions. Usually, it affects the extremities, especially after traumatic events such as fractures. It’s a clinical diagnosis. Due to the fact that its pathophysiology is incompletely understood, there are no guidelines for its’ management. The diagnosis should be established as early as possible and a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach is suggested, including pharmacological treatment, rehabilitation and, in case of failure, use of invasive measures, in order to promote the functionality of the affected area thus reducing the risk of maintenance or worsening of pain and dysfunction. Early mobilization and vitamin C supplementation are increasingly playing a key role in its prevention
